"My wife and I always look forward to our weekly visit to Tara Thai. I have decited to go down the menu and order something new every week. EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL!!! My wife is stuck on the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp....she LOVES IT! Everybody in the restaurant is so nice and we look forward to seeing the great staff they have working there too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TARA THAI! THIS PLACE IS GREAT!"
"Tara Thai is becoming one of my new favorite places. Every dish I have tried is even better than the previous and its great to have awesome service coming from a long day at work."
"In a nutshell, the food is amazing as is the service. Always have the crispy chicken with basil or the pad thai with prawns. On our last visit our server was very courteous and he also remembered our names. My wife and I felt like celebrities. He recommended the Sea Bass which was heaven! Can't wait to go back and try the scallop garlic dish. 5 STARS!"
"I've eaten at Tara Thai about half-a-dozen times in the last year and found it to excellent. The food is wonderful! I commented to a friend after one visit that if they had served me five gallons of the dish I would have died eating it. It was so good I couldn't have stopped. The main dishes have great Thai flavors and are made with high quality ingredients. I wish the parking were a little better, but that is the only less than wonderful thing I can say."
"Tara Thai is the BEST Thai restaurant so far in El Paso."
"Hands down the Spicy Basil is the best lunch dish. If you like real spicy go for the Thai Spicy. One of the best places for a solid meal."
"Having visited many Thai restuarants in the Long Beach, Ca area, I was happy to run into this restaurant while visiting El Paso. The food was delicious and cooked to order. The appetizers where awesome, cant remember the name but they were little bags with pork, chicken and beef I believe. Will stop for more next time. Valerie, our server was attentive and Sergio, the Manager was also very cordial. You wont be disappointed."
"This is great thai food and really comparable to thai restaurants on the west coast. I am from New York and visit here often. I am also a 'foodie' and know true authentic thai food when I eat it. The owners are both from Thailand and know their food; winning best restaurant in 2009 and getting rave reviews from major food critics in El Paso says something about the place. Go in and try various things. You will like something if not everything!"
"Ground chicken with sticky rice (Larb) and thai tea.... perfection...love this place!"
"OMG...i just had the green curry with chicken.. amazing. can't wait to eat at Tara Thai again."
"I love this place, the manager is great & service is always on top of things. I'm already craving the food."
"In a town dominated by Mexican chains and bbq joints, locally owned Tara Thai puts its best foot forward at this cozy neighborhood Thai spot near UTEP.The service is terrific, and the food is well done using traditional Thai cooking styles and is beautifully presented. We had the Tom Yom soup, Larb Gai chicken, and the Crispy Chicken with Basil. I would highly recommend all of those dishes. The prices are not cheap for a Thai restaurant, but the high quality ingredients, yummy food, and good service make Tara Thai worth the splurge."
"Best Thai restaurant in el paso. Dinner is somewhat expensive but their lunch menu is pretty affordable. I always get the pad see ew and it always tastes great! You have to get some thai tea with your meal."
"The food competes with great Thai food anywhere in this country."
"The food at Tara Thai Restaurant is delicious. Each dish is served fresh and is very well prepared. There is no other Thai restaurant in town that can compare to this one. Sai has indeed brought authentic Thai cuisine to El Paso!" "As for the limited parking: there is parking to be found in adjacent streets. It certainly is worth walking to this culinary gem! Thank you Sai. We hope you stay for a very long time!"
"Best Thai in Texas!"
"I am a returned peace corps volunteer who served as an English teacher in Thailand for over 2 years. Believe me when I say that Tara Thai is the real deal. From the ambience to the food itself, Tara is by far the best Thai food one can get in El Paso or anywhere in West Texas. Be sure to try their Green Curry and Spicy Papaya Salad. Absolutely to die for :)"
"Food is great! crying tiger was great! service was awesome and it was busy! very reasonable lunch menu and authentic tastes really melt in your mouth! will go back again and again! thanks Sai for bringing Thailand all the way to El Paso!"
"Lovely environment, great food. I haven't tried everything on the menu. But I have tried 5 different items and I have loved them all! Even the salad that comes with your lunch order is awesome! You can't go wrong even if you don't know what your ordering unless your picky or have specific food you will not eat. The only thing that people may complain of is the price for some of their dishes are a little pricier than expected, but you are getting quality cooked food. The other thing that I have complaints about is the limited and small parking spaces. Although you can find parking spaces in the surrounding streets."
"This place overall was amazing; I love the food, the service and the décor. My entrée was Pad Thai Noodles, the flavor was great. For the appetizer, I had the Mummy Shrimp. If you've never had Mummy Shrimp before, you're in for a treat. The appetizer comes with a sauce that compliments the Mummy Shrimp like no other. To top it off, the chef, who I believe is the owner (If I'm wrong, please no insult to the chef or the owner), came out to ask us how the food was. We ended up getting into a conversation about some Thai fruit, point being she went back to the kitchen, and brought me a quite generous amount of fresh Lechee she personally brought back from Thailand. The experience was truly memorable. If you want to have (in my opinion) the best Thai food in El Paso you need to try Tara Thai. If I had to say one bad thing about the place, it's that it's not open late enough during the week. "
" I really enjoyed the Pad Thai here. I'm used to awesome street food Thai while living in Toronto and this is just as good. Flavour, price perfect. I'm worried about business though. They need more advertising - and a much more attractive sign. I'm pprdering take out for lunch right now again! "
"Finally a decent Thai restaurant in El Paso!!! I LOVE Thai food! I have tried all of them to include Bangkok Chili that has since closed. Uncomparable to all others, TaraThai's menu and service is spectacular. Ok, actually, service could be faster, but the food more than makes up for it. The ingredients seem to be the best and freshest. Nothing seems frozen like the other restaurants. It's a must try. "
"Great food, comparable to any good Thai places in San Francisco or Seattle. Prices are reasonable. "
"I like to visit Tara Thai at least once a week, the service is great and the manager is always helpful for any request or just checking on you if your meal is just the way you like it. The green curry is excellent and the deserts are extremely good. This place is a must. "
I had to come and check it. Several of my workmates back home told he I would love this place and I sure did. Service is a little slow compared to service at other restaurants in El Paso. I am visiting from Chicago and one of my favorite things to to do is check out Thai restaurants at every city I visit. Congratulations, the food was fresh and genuine thai flavors. Pad Thai needs bean sprouts and a little sticky, serve with and more juicy limes...a little dry but all the other dishes I tried were fabulous, fantastic, delicious. Great desert too. Wish parking wasn't so cramped but hey, anyting worth eating is worth some effort. Looking forward to my next visit in January. Again, congratulations!
"I can hardly wait. Tonight I am going back to eat at Tara Thai! My friend Luz and I had dinner there last Saturday night and it was the BEST. I had the crispy chicken with basil - the sauce was so-o-o delicious and the presentation was elegant. We sent compliments to the chef and the owner, Sai Pituk, came out and visited with us. Everywhere we travel, we make it a point to eat at the best Thai restaurant in the locale if Thai food is available. El Paso, we've got a winner! It's a little small for space so better get there early because it fills up fast. Give yourself a treat and enjoy fresh, authentic Thai cuisine prepared by master chefs and a hard-working owner who obviously cares about producing the best."
"Wow! Thats all I have to say. Wow! Now that I am back school, I will be there often. Truly the best Thai food in town. TaraThai rivals restaurants I have enjoyed in bigger cities. Truly a new culinary experience in El Paso."
"I went to Tara Thai with a friend on September 3. I first heard about it on KHEY and had purchaed one of their 50/50 Friday coupons. I made a reservation as recommended and arrived promptly at 7:00. It was a little difficult to find parking but other than that, it was great. I had the glass noodles and my friend had steak. Both meals were seasoned to perfection. The service was outstanding. Even the cook/owner came out to chat with us. Out drinks were refilled regularly and the staff came by periodically to check on us. They were attentive but not overbearing. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We are already planning another trip to try the Kobe Beef."
"Best food i have had in a very long time, the tastes are unique and amazing. so good! great service and beautiful atmosphere takes you to a far away place. chefs from thailand prepare everything fresh. amazing people there, sai, the owner and chef is amazing. sergio, the GM is awesome. everyone is great there, no complaints. and soon they will have the liquor license too! yay!"
"Excellent dishes, a little bit pricey but well worth it. Keep in mind that their dinner menu is pricier than their lunch menu. Last time I went for dinner I had the Kobe steak which was very good but the portion, obviously being what it was, was not that big; for those none foodies it is the Cadillac of steaks, very expensive. I love coming here for lunch and hands down it is the most authentic Thai restaurant in the area."
"We were looking for great Asian vegetarian food with patio service so we could bring our well-behaved Golden Retriever with us, and we found both at Tara Thai. We called ahead to make sure they served vegetarian Thai dishes and were told we could substitute tofu in any of the meat dishes and that, yes, they had a small patio section that could comfortably accommodate us with our dog. When we arrived we sat street-side but far enough from busy Mesa Street that we could easily converse and enjoy our evening. The service was prompt, professional, and attentive and our drinks were on the table within a few minutes of being there, along with a complimentary nan-like bread with a spicy dipping sauce. Our meals arrived at just the right time, but best of all both dishes were excellent! My wife had the Karee Curry (suggested by the waitress) and I had the Drunken Noodles and while we wanted to consume every flavorful, spicy morsel, we both took home enough for our lunches the next day. We resisted cleaning our plates in order to save room for desert and were rewarded with a scrumptious, generous portion of Thai Flan that was served on a bed of coconut-, and jasmine-infused white rice (that we shared). And although the evening was brisk and busy, the owner found time to come out to our table and briefly chat with us. We plan on becoming regulars and have already begun recommending this comfy place to our friends."
"Wow! Finally good Thai food in El Paso. I was in the peace corp and did a tour in Thailand for 2 yrs. I came for lunch on the 4th of July and what an awesome suprise! I wasn't expecting much, because being in El Paso, we don't get much truly authentic anything besides Mexican. But their Pad Thai is just like I used to have on the streets of Thailand. The chef was kind enough to come out to speak to her tables, and YES she is Thai! I didn't even think there were Thai people in the city. The restaurant is small and homely. Their Thai ice tea is great. The service was a little slow, but it could be because it was a holiday and they were not expecting the little crowd of people waiting for a table. If you consider yourself a true foodie, you have to try this little eatery....."
"My husband and I had been shopping around for a good Thai food restaurant, what we found was Tara Thai. The most amazing Thai food we have had yet. I loved the entire experience but was mostly touched by the very special dish they made just for my son who is five and doesn't eat anything. He ate the entire dish and loved it. They are also very military friendly. We eat there often."
